OGA Superintendent of the Year

Some of this year's Oregon Golf Association winners received nominations, while this year's OGA Superintendent of the Year winner received dozens! Illahe Hills Country Club’s Superintendent Bill Swancutt (shown here with OGA President Mark Reed and Illahe Hills CC Board President Bob Thompson).

Bill has worked tirelessly with both the Oregon Golf Course Superintendents and the OSU Turf Management Program in his more than 40 years in the industry that started at the age of 15 at Eugene Country Club.

He's become known as the unofficial “Dean” of Superintendents since many of those who have worked for him have gone on to become Superintendents as well.

From irrigation installation to complete rebuilding of all the greens, Swancutt would never be one to boast of his accomplishments, but from the number of nominations we received this year for Bill—there are a lot of people taking note of all he does.
