Highlands Golf Club in Gearhart, Oregon is looking for a qualified Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of our beautiful 9-hole golf course.

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports to the Head Superintendent and General Manager and is accountable for managing and actively participating in the overall maintenance at Highlands Golf Club including:

Weekly mowing and landscaping schedules
Irrigation of the golf course, including hand watering in summer, replacing damaged heads, managing pump and wells, and repairing system.
Assisting with equipment maintenance including setting reels, backlapping, changing oil and spark plugs, keeping equipment logs, and other common vehicle maintenance.
Assisting in spraying and fertilizing the golf course
Managing employees at Highlands Golf Club
Maintaining quality standards and following all current safety regulations
Coordinating with the Superintendent and GM to facilitate a fun, exciting, and positive future vision for the golf course.

Requirements:

2-3 years’ experience in golf course maintenance.
Strong leadership skills.
Two-year degree in turf management and agronomy preferred or working toward.
Able to obtain Oregon pesticide license with 90 days.
Knowledge of poa greens and rye grass and current fertilizing/spraying practices.
Strong mechanical, irrigation, and spraying experience preferred.

Pay Range: $50,000-$65,000
