King City Civic Association is seeking a Part Time Golf Course Mechanic no more than 35hrs. a week, who is a dedicated individual, self-sufficient, strives for excellence, and has the innate ability to interact with staff and the public. The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive preventative maintenance and service programs for all golf course maintenance equipment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preventative maintenance, training on the use of equipment, performing general maintenance duties for the golf course.

Qualifications:
• Three years of experience as a golf course mechanic or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited high school or vocational school.
• Valid state driver’s license
• Mechanic certification preferred.

General Duties:
• Helps train all assigned full time, part time, and seasonal employees on proper use of equipment in accordance with equipment manufacturers guidelines.
• Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in all golf course equipment.
• Disassembles motors and performs general overhauling for both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Machining or welding work in making fittings used in golf course equipment.
• Grinds reels, bed knives, and ensures reels are adjusted correctly.
• Maintains a complete and comprehensive set of records for all equipment and parts inventory, purchases of parts and supplies, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Spot-checks equipment for satisfactory performance in the field.
• May be required to perform duties of general golf course laborer as required.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills:
• Mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skill to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, exhaust, etc. system problems of light and heavy maintenance equipment, automotive apparatuses, and combustion engines with the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools. Working knowledge of operating equipment and automotive apparatuses.
• Basic computer knowledge, may use computer analysis to locate faulty engine parts.

Necessary Abilities:
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs and costs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and keep records, to read and interpret service manuals.
• Ability to use a variety of tools: power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches; machine tools, like lathes, and grinding machines; welding and flame-cutting equipment; and jacks and hoists to lift and move large parts.
• Special considerations include but are not limited to: regular use hands and fingers to feel or operate objects, tools, and/or controls and reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move fifty (50) pounds and occasionally up to one hundred (100) pounds; specific vision abilities; work in outside weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; noise level in work area is usually loud.
