Linden Golf & Country Club is a 9-hole private club located in Puyallup, WA. Amenities include a grass driving range, two practice putting greens, a short game practice area, and a nursery green.
Linden just celebrated our 100-year anniversary. We are seeking a Superintendent to lead the Maintenance department and help the club take the next step forward. Our club just approved the development of a Master Plan by course architect Dan Hixson. The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with Mr. Hixson and our construction contractor on improvement projects.
Essential Traits:

• Proven ability to achieve premium Poa annua playing surfaces.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
• GCSAA Class A
• Two-year Turf Management degree
• Two years’ experience in a leadership role
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for the right candidate
• Valid WSDA Pesticide License or ability to obtain
• Valid driver’s license
Nature of Work:
This is a supervisory and technical position that oversees and manages daily maintenance operations and ongoing improvements of a private, 9-hole golf course.
Examples of Responsibilities:
• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates employees. Establishes and enforces safety rules; provides safety training; conducts relevant safety inspections.
• Schedules and assigns routine work for maintenance functions seven days per week; monitors work in progress.
• Inspects course daily; Identifies problems and potential solutions.
• Supervises and performs skilled golf course maintenance work with emphasis on conditioning of greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
• Ability to gain a thorough working knowledge of irrigation system.
• Records and submits employee payroll in a timely manner.
• Communicates regularly with professional staff, Greens Committee, and Board of Directors; Attends meetings as required.
• Orders all equipment and supplies for the operation of the course; Maintains inventory control; Submits receipts to accounting staff in a timely manner.
• Identifies and communicates any equipment issues; Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Assists in developing and managing annual budget for maintenance operation.
• Makes recommendations for capital and equipment purchases and assists with vendor selection.
• Acts in a professional manner at all times.
• Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Compensation:
• Salary $95,000 – $105,000 DOE
